Workshop: NGS - Methods and Genomes Annotation

Summary

This worshop introduces how to use Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data in the genome study. It consists of three parts and includes:

Day 1: Introduction to the Genome Assembly. Lecturer Dr. Zdravka Ivanova.

  • Introduction to Genome Assembly (Using Velvet).
  • Optimized de Bruijn Graph assemblies (using the Velvet Optimizer and SPAdes ).

 

Day 2: De novo transcriptome reconstruction with RNA-Seq. Lecturer Dr. Vesselin Baev.

  • De novo transcriptome reconstruction with RNA-Seq.
  • Small Non-coding RNA Clustering using BlockClust.

 

Day 3: Machine Learning. Lecturer Dr. Georgi Minkov.

  • Classification in Machine Learning.
  • Interval-Wise Testing for OMICS data.

Exercises demonstrating the presented technologies are provided for each topic.
