The main area of Ivanka’s research interests is in vitro plants and tissue cultures breeding, plant genetic transformation (e.g., Agrobacterium rhizogenes-mediated), NMR-based metabolomics, biosynthesis of biologically active molecules from plants and tissue cultures with relevant application in pharmacy and cosmetics.

Ivanka is also interested in studying bioactivity of plant-derived secondary metabolites in different in vitro models of skin cancer, senescence and inflammation.
