New CPSBB Campus, Trakia Municipality

CPSBB and Trakia Municipality started the “Green Initiative”

On February 23, 2021, scientists from CPSBB and representatives from Trakia Municipality launched a joint tree-planting campaign under the motto “Green Initiative”. The campaign's goal is to plant trees and thus provide a better quality environment for the residents in the vicinity of the new scientific campus of CPSBB in the Trakia district.

Dr. Nikola Staykov, Mr. Petar Kazakov, Mr. Mihail Angelov, Mr. Lyudmil Tonchev and Mr. Stefan Stoev represented the Center and were joined by Mrs. Venelina Videlova – Head of Ecology Department of Trakia Municipality. The first group of trees from the species Paulownia tomentosa, provided by CPSBB, were planted by the young scientists. The event was limited due to the Covid-19 restrictions, but the CPSBB and Trakia Municipality intend to actively involve the residents, schools and institutions from the Trakia district in future campaigns. CPSBB will provide trees from different species for the upcoming events. Raising awareness of climate changes, pollution, environmental issues, and air quality are among the campaign's main topics. Everyone who wishes to join the “Green Initiative” could contact CPSBB via our website.
