Tsanko Gechev participates in а workshop dedicated to Horizon Europewith representatives of the Bulgarian Government, EU Commissionand all universities in Plovdiv, Medical University of Plovdiv, 30 July 2020

The CPSBB Director Dr. Tsanko Gechev, together with Mrs. Marina Mircheva (CPSBB), participated in а seminar dedicated to Horizon Europe. The seminar was organized by the Medical University of Plovdiv, with the support of the Bulgarian Government and the European Commission, and was attended by Rectors and other high-ranked officials of all universities in Plovdiv.

Lectures of the workshop included:

• • • Possibility for cooperation with the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, Prof. Kostadin Kostadinov, Senior Adviser to the Minister of Education and Science of Bulgaria and Member of the WG of EU and the countries of LAC

    • EU policy and funding of research and innovation in Horizon Europe (2021-2027), Assoc. Prof. Evgeny Evgeniev, First Secretary Education and Research, Permanent representation of the Republic of Bulgaria to the European Union

    • Regional innovation ecosystem and Bulgaria’s perspective, Dr. Svetlozar Andreev, European Committee of the Regions

    • EU partnership in health care, Nicolas Kreff and Patrick Boasso, MedTech Europe

Following the workshop, Assoc. Prof. Tsanko Gechev met with Prof. Hristina Yancheva, the Rector of the Agricultural University, and Prof. Mariana Murdzeva, Rector of the Medical University of Plovdiv, to discuss the cooperation between CPSBB and the two universities. Assoc. Prof. T. Gechev also met with Assoc. Prof. Evgeny Evgeniev, the First Secretary of Education and Research in the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Bulgaria to the European Union, in order to inform Mr. Evgeniev about the progress of CPSBB and discuss how the Bulgarian Government can provide financial assistance towards the long-term sustainability of CPSBB.
